ROUGH-IN KIT

INSTRUCTION MANUAL

1. Determine the position of your speakers in relation to the wall studs. The

Rough-In Kit is designed to accommodate either upright or horizontal

mounting positions (examples shown in Drawing A at left).

2. Snap brackets to speaker frame for the desired mounting configuration

as shown in Drawing B.

3. Refer to Drawing C below. Position the bracket/frame assembly between

the two 2 x 4 studs where it will be mounted. Then mark mounting

positions with a pencil or punch.

OPTIONAL: You may want to chisel a slot in the 2 x 4 studs to allow

the bracket to be recessed flush with the front surface of the 2 x 4. This

prevents the drywall from bowing when it is placed over the bracket.

4. Attach the bracket/frame assembly with four drywall screws or four

roofing nails (Drawing C).

5. Pull speaker wire to each speaker bracket location making sure to leave

extra wire. Staple wire to stud behind kit so that it will be there when you

mount the speaker later on(Drawing C). For more wiring instructions,

refer to Speaker Installation Manual.
